Taylor Downes

About me

As a product designer, my role encompasses researching, designing, and developing solutions that meet user, customer, and market needs. I actively engage in identifying problems, leveraging various design thinking practices and tools to communicate valuable solutions to my team. My design process involves iterative testing and development, where I use techniques such as user flows, wireframes, personas, flow and journey mapping, videos, high-fidelity mockups, and click-through prototypes. I am continually refining my processes and seeking innovative ways to improve my work.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I have a variety of hobbies and interests that keep me engaged and energized. I am an avid yogi and cyclist, and I love to explore new destinations and cultures through travel.

My design principles

  1. Build. Measure. Learn.

  2. Bias to action. Play to win.

  3. The best part is no part. Less but better.

  4. Designers should over-communicate internally.

  5. Remove my ego. Use efficient tooling. Prioritise fast development and rapid iterations.

  6. Include the team in all the design decisions.

  7. Seek feedback often and from any interested voice.
